Merivale Alterations

Location: Merivale | Christchurch

This renovation modernised a 1970s Merivale home, enhancing functionality, energy efficiency, and spatial quality. The design introduced an open-plan layout, increased volume in key areas, and improved insulation for comfort. A new roof form and square openings create a dynamic connection to the outdoors, while skylights and north-facing windows enhance natural light. Thoughtful upgrades, including durable materials and strategic shading, transformed the home into a sustainable, contemporary living space that balances openness and intimacy.
