Tree Paddock Home

Project Team: Craig South and Campbell Jones

Status: Construction

Construction Team: Gary Mason Construction

Location: Canterbury

Generous yet carefully controlled openings allow filtered natural light to move through the home, creating a calm, shifting interior atmosphere while maintaining privacy and connection to the forest. The home is designed as a warm, sheltered sanctuary year-round, with natural insulation and protected living spaces that support comfort and simplicity.

A refined palette of natural, sustainable materials defines the architecture, complemented by a durable copper roof that adds character and longevity. The result is a considered woodland residence that harmonises with its environment, offering a quiet, contemporary approach to sustainable rural living.

Nestled within mature woodland, this rural home is carefully designed as a secluded retreat that embraces its natural surroundings. The architecture is guided by sustainability and off-grid living principles, with a strong focus on minimal environmental impact and a deep connection to place.
